Bear represents inner strength. This 20x11mm spiny oyster bear pendant is carved by Zuni artisan Darren Boone with 5mm silver pendant loop. The pendant is reversible with an arrow for protection and the Zuni sunface design that signifies the “harmonious completeness of things” and brings eternal happiness.

A Zuni fetish is a carving believed to contain the powers of the animal carving and were central to Zuni culture and their religion prior to the Spanish invasion.  Most always these were animals of prey, as the most powerful providers in life.  Individually carved in semi-precious stones, many are enhanced with medicine bundles, arrows for protection or other adornments to enhance their power.
