Chris McCabe Turquoise Hummingbird Earrings

Hummingbird represents joy. These 17x12mm turquoise hummingbird earrings are carved by renowned Zuni artisan Chris McCabe. These earrings feature a sterling silver loop and ear wire.

A Zuni fetish is a carving believed to contain the powers of the animal carving and were central to Zuni culture and their religion prior to the Spanish invasion.  Most always these were animals of prey, as the most powerful providers in life.  Individually carved in semi-precious stones, many are enhanced with medicine bundles, arrows for protection or other adornments to enhance their power.
