Spider opal is a new handcrafted opal that combines beauty, play of colour, and the distinctiveness of genuine opal. The refraction and unique colour comes from Bragg diffraction of light, just as in natural opal. This opal does not use dye to create colour as do other synthetic opals. It is the natural refraction that creates the unique colour webbing and patterns, which produces infinite uniqueness and beauty in each piece.
